Recommendations
A. THAT Council approve the streamlining of business license types, as described in this
report and shown in Appendix A.
B. THAT Council approve, in principle, additional amendments and housekeeping
amendments to the License Ordinance and Business Premises Regulation of Hours Ordinance, generally in accordance with the by-laws attached in Appendices B and C.
C. THAT Council instruct the City Attorney's Office to bring forward for enactment the
proposed amendments to the License Ordinance and Business Premises Regulation of
Hours Ordinance, generally in accordance with the ordinances attached in Appendices B and
C, to come into effect on April 4, 2025.
D. THAT subject to approval of the proposed business license categories in
Recommendation A, Council instruct staff to report back at the end of Q3 2025 with
recommendations on the 2026 business licence fees.
